The innercity district "Prenzlauer Berg" has many typical old buildings, many of which are
classified as historic monuments. One of the landmarks is the water-tower (commonly know as "Fat Herrmann") and the Zeiss-Planetarium.
The Berlin cult-brewery, which is located in the premises of the former Schultheiss Brewery at the Schönhauser Allee/Danziger Straße
junction, functions as a cultural centre of the Kollwitz neighbourhood. Here you will find restaurants, cinemas and theatres; additionally
you can go to festivals, concerts and other cutural events.Restaurant and hotel trade play a crucial role in "Prenzlauer Berg". There are
all kinds of places, which invite to a plentful breakfast in the morning and a comfortable glass of wine in the evening. Kollwitz Square is especially inviting.
Playgrounds and parks are within walking distance from your holiday apartment.

Berlin - Centre (Mitte) comprises an essential part of the historical districts of the city.
Many sights are concentrated on a very small area so that you can reach them on foot. The landmark of Berlin, the Berlin TV Tower can be seen
from far away. Nearby are "Gendarmenmarkt" with the German and the French Dome at its sides, the most important museums of the city and "Hackesche Höfe".
Famous streets are Friedrichstraße and Unter den Linden; the latter one runs straight to Brandenburg Gate. It is linked to the district "Tiergarten",
which houses the Reichstag Building (Germany´s parlament), other government buildings and the famous Potsdamer Platz (Potsdam Sq.).
Many famous theatres can be found in Berlin-Centre, too. E.g. "Friedrichstadtpalast", the "Berlin Ensemble", "Deutsches Theater", "Volksbühne",
"Schauspielhaus " and the National Opera House. Many restaurants and pubs will welcome you and offer a wide range of delicious meals from a rich
breakfast table to a nightly dinner. But you will also enjoy a nice cup of coffee or tea.

The district Berlin Mitte/Tiergarten is part of the district called Berlin - Centre (Mitte)
with an extensive park. The important parliament and government building with the German "Reichstag" building, the "Berlin philharmonia",
the "Potsdam place" and the message quarter, the "street of June 17th", and the victory column but also the castle "Bellevue", the seat of
the Federal President, are located in the eastern part of this district. In any case worthwhile is a visit in the "Zoologischer Garten",
the oldest zoo of Germany, in the western area. The district Berlin-Schoeneberg with the world-famous street "Elector dam" and the
"Kaiser Wilhelm memory church" as well as the prolongation, the "Tauentzien" with the "KaDeWe", follows here.

Berlin-Schoeneberg is a densely populated innercity part of Berlin with Tauentzien Street
in the north, where you will find the famous "KaDeWe" (= Kaufhaus des Westens - shopping centre of the west) and the "Europacenter".
If you continue on that street you will come to "Kurfürstendamm", which is world-famous. In Schoeneberg it is the Bavarian Quarter which
attracts a lot of attention. Many famous people live here. With its many cafés, pubs and restaurants it is a popular amusement
quarter. Tauentzien and Kurfürstendamm are a must for every visitor to Berlin, who enjoys going shopping. A visit to "Winterfeldtmarkt"
is really something one should not miss. It offers a wide variety of quite extraordinary goods.
